About Us
Hello, and welcome to RSArtcraft.
My name is Oksana, and I am the owner of this shop.
All the wonderful creations you see here are handcrafted by my husband, Roman, a master artisan whose works are truly one of a kind.
Each piece he creates reflects not only exceptional craftsmanship but also a deep connection to history, mythology, and culture. Every carving is made with love and attention to detail, turning natural materials like antler, horn, and bone into timeless works of art.
These unique creations carry the spirit of ancient traditions and the energy of past eras — connecting you to the world of Vikings, myths, and legends through modern craftsmanship.
Welcome to a space where the ancient and the contemporary meet — crafted with soul, patience, and understanding.
A Few Words from the Master Himself
Roman:
My art is an inseparable part of my life. I carve bone, horn, and antler, mostly in Viking style. I especially love working with antler and horn because they are naturally shed by animals every year — we find them ourselves in the forest.Over the years, I have worked with many materials, including mammoth bone and tusk. But what inspires me most is the Viking era — its symbols, gods, and mythology. Odin, ravens, serpents — these motifs form the core of my work. I also make knives and accessories inspired by the same spirit.
I live in Volodymyr, a small ancient town in western Ukraine, more than a thousand years old. It was founded by Prince Volodymyr the Great, the ruler of Kievan Rus’ (980–1015). Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by history — as a boy, I found my first treasure, a gilded medal from the 1800s, near the river that flows through my city. That discovery sparked my lifelong curiosity for the past.
After school, I studied archaeology and restoration, focusing on the preservation of iron weapons from the 8th–13th centuries — swords, axes, and spearheads. I worked with local museums to restore and expand their collections.
My passion for history and art led me to bone carving more than 15 years ago. It allowed me to express my creativity fully and to share a piece of my soul with people around the world.
Each new design is a challenge — and a joy. My goal is not only to study history but to create it, leaving behind something meaningful.
With gratitude,
Oksana & Roman
